The role of the Health and Safety Rep has changed in the NZ workplace under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and its regulations. This course is focused on assisting your health and safety reps understand the requirements and obligations of a Health and Safety Representative in relation to the Act. They will re-enter the workplace stronger in their role as a Health and Safety Representative, with an ability to add good communication and health and safety leadership to their responsibilities.

Unit standard 29315 replaces unit standard 20918 for Health and Safety Representative Training.
If you hold unit standard 20918 you will require transitional training and this one day programme is ideal. Managers may also like to attend to understand the obligations and responsibilities of a Health and Safety Rep at Work.

This course has been designed for both experienced reps and new reps and there are no pre-requisites to attend this course. However, it is ideal for trainees to have an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Our Trainers are experienced in working with all levels of prior knowledge so this course has been designed to include a range of interactive training activities that will assess the experience of a trainee. Depending on this experience a post course activity may be required for assessment evidence before the unit standard is awarded.
